The Lanterman Developmental Disabilities Services Act
In 1969, the Lanterman Mental Retardation Act established the regional center system. In 1973, this legislation was expanded to include additional conditions that would be eligible for services. This legislation was renamed the Lanterman Developmental Disabilities Services Act (The Lanterman Act).
