Employee Benefits Summary

Harbor Regional Center offers a choice of three medical insurance programs:

Harbor pays the cost of employee coverage up to the premium amount for Kaiser HMO employee only coverage and offers family coverage at the employee’s expense.

  • PERS-Platinum (a PPO administered by Anthem Blue Cross which uses the Prudent Buyer Plan network)
  • Blue Shield HMO
  • Kaiser HMO

Harbor funds for 100% cost of employee dental insurance for either plan. Family coverage is available at the employee’s expense.

Harbor Regional Center provides two dental programs:

  • Delta Dental Preferred Option (PPO)
  • Delta Dental HMO

Harbor covers 100% of the cost of VSP Vision Insurance for employees and eligible dependents.

Harbor funds 100% of the cost of long term disability insurance through Unum Life and Long Term Disability.

Employer paid up to one times your annual salary.

Harbor does not participate in Social Security. The taxes that employees typically pay into Social Security are paid directly to the employee.

Harbor offers two levels of retirement plan participation.

  • Harbor automatically contributes 10% of your salary into a private retirement savings plan administered by TIAA. All contributions into this plan are vested from your first day of employment.
  • You also have the option to contribute additional pre-tax funds into a variety of plans, to the maximum allowed by law. Harbor will match 50% of your contribution up to the first 6% of salary, or a maximum Harbor contribution of 3%. This is in addition to the non-elective contribution.

Vacation accrual begins at 3 weeks per year and increases to 4 weeks per year after 5 years of service.

Harbor provides 15 paid holidays each year.

Employees accrue 12 days of sick leave per year.

Harbor employees may qualify for paid time off for professional education, participate in a variety of professional training programs sponsored by Harbor, and earn sabbatical and other longevity awards.

Harbor employees may choose to enroll at the employee’s expense. Up to $5,000 a year for childcare and $1,500 a year for medical, dental, vision and over-the-counter medications.
