At Harbor Regional Center we have certain Core Values that form the foundation of all that we do as we work with you and your family:
- To provide support, information and choices to help individuals and their families make wise and thoughtful decisions about their lives and to have as much control over their lives as possible
- To work in partnership with our clients, families, service providers, and staff — committed to our shared vision of helping people with disabilities live full, active lives as valued members of their community.
- To think of the person, not just the disability, and provide person-centered services which emphasize each individual’s strengths and capabilities and which respect the opinions and preferences of the family.
- To maintain the principle of the least restrictive/most inclusive alternative. This means that services and supports should not restrict individual freedom or impose controls any more than is necessary, and that they should be provided in natural — as opposed to special or segregated — settings.
