This text is the first of a planned three book series in understanding people with developmental disabilities and helping them gain greater control over their world, their life, and their behavior.

A Work in Progress: Behavior Management Strategies and a Curriculum for Intensive Behavioral Treatment of Autism , by Ron Leaf and John McEachin
This text is a great collection of ideas and programs for building skills as well as strategies for dealing with challenging behaviors. 

Families and Positive Behavior Support: Addressing Problem Behavior in Family Contexts , by Joseph M. Lucyshyn, Ph.D.; Glen Dunlap, Ph.D.; and Richard W. Albin, Ph.D.
This book provides step-by-step process often illustrated with charts, question lists, and visual aids, it will assist professional in assessing children, planning  positive behavior support based interventions, and implementing support plans.

Good Kids, Difficult Behavior: A Guide to What Works and What Doesn't , by Joyce Divinyi, M.S., L.P.C.
This book presents simple, effective tools for understanding difficult behavior and changing it through preparation and response.

Challenging Child: How to Understand, Raise, and Enjoy Your "Difficult Child" , by Stanley I Greenspan and Jacqueline Salmon
This book helps parents identify their child’s personality types, and construct a parenting style suited for their child’s individual personality.
